On Thursday, 10th of October, the Melbourne Outcomex Team marked a major milestone by cutting the ribbon on our new office space! The event coincided with another exciting moment: Outcomex Melbourne’s 7th birthday! It was a day filled with celebration, gratitude, and a sense of accomplishment as we welcomed partners, customers, and our dedicated team to commemorate the occasion.
Tech, Talks and Toasts
The day began with a tech showcase to highlight some of our latest innovations and technology within the office. Our very own experts shared insights, alongside a few partners. Our team of panellists delivered engaging presentations, sharing their perspectives and deepening the understanding of how we’re leading in the tech space.
Our very own head of emerging technology, James Hanna, spoke about our vision in the IoT space, highlighting our involvement in the healthcare sector, where our tech is being used to improve patient outcomes and staff OH&S – it is envisaged that through the use of our innovative tech, healthcare professionals can gain a better understanding and prediction of complex disease process and adverse patient outcomes – where the measurement of (and factors that might lead to) patient behaviours of concerns is sufficiently predicated, allowing for the reduction of adverse events.
Sales Director, Ben Blaschka, who also heads up the Melbourne office and Southern Region, believes the tech showcase was an important part of the day as we, at Outcomex, want to share our knowledge with customers about what’s going on in a very complex world. “It’s a part of giving back to the community that invests in us as a whole and having them involved, while also helping them stay armed for what the future holds, or what is already potentially at their doorstep,” explains Ben.
A big part of the tech involves a strong relationship with Cisco. As we continue to invest in them, they heavily invest in us. With the ecosystem full of engineering resources, and the education and support services that benefit the wider community, Outcomex has been able to see such growth with this relationship.
Says Ben: “Over the years, we’ve seen why Outcomex exists to a larger degree. As everything becomes more complicated, intertwined and cyber-aware, being a specialist is what we do. We’ve chosen a path and want to be the best engineering business that we possibly can be.”
Once the tech showcase wrapped it, the offical office grand opening celebration began, with an empowering speech by Ben. Emphasising the significance of collaborative efforts in building a successful business, he acknowledged the invaluable help of our staff and customers. Ben also recognised our partners for their unwavering support that contributed to the team’s explosive growth.
The Melbourne team’s vision and drive were vital to the success of this project, making the event ever more meaningful.
Reflecting on what his biggest takeaways were over his many years at Outcomex, Ben explained the importance of the journey and the experience with the people. “The creation of a micro-community of like-minded people. Being able to observe the business, but also the individual people flourish and become better people themselves, with the support of the business and myself. Anything important in your life is fundamentally only made better because of the community you managed to create around it.”
After the ribbon cutting, it was time to relax and enjoy the festivities. The team indulged in a delicious guilty-free mezze table filled with some healthy treats. The room was buzzing with energy, laughter, and great conversations, as well as some fun photos with a funky picture frame!
Gratitude & Growth
The Outcomex Team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for this special day. Your support along the way has been key in making all of this a reality. It not only marks our relationships and successes, but just how much the Melbourne branch has grown.
Starting with humble beginnings with just 2 staff in Melbourne as of 2017, to 14 employees within one year and into a new office to accommodate the growth, to now having a team of team over close to 40, with a brand-new space full of possibilities.
Ben firmly states that we’ve seen a lot of growth over the years, especially in the Victorian region, as a result of the people. “The Outcomex team and everyone involved in making this happen is a very diverse group of people extremely focused on a common goal and bring something out. The result and delivery has resonated with the wider community, the vision and delivery are something partners and clients have been wanting, and wanting to be a part of.”
He further explains: “Primarily, it’s the people continuing to push and drive, and wanting better, and always trying to be better, that has allowed us to continue that growth, and get to more people, and speak to more people about what we’re trying to achieve.”
